Julia is a highly skilled barrister practicing nationally in commercial and public law, with significant experience in corporations law, regulatory proceedings, class actions, professional negligence, competition and consumer law, and public and administrative law. She is a trusted advocate, regularly appearing both led and unled for a wide range of private and government clients in proceedings in superior courts across Australia.
Julia graduated with a Juris Doctor (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne, winning the Supreme Court Prize and multiple subject and other academic awards. She also holds a Bachelor of Business (First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales, adding valuable commercial insight to her legal practice.
Before joining the Victorian Bar, Julia gained experience as:
• Associate to the Honourable Justice Elliott at the Supreme Court of Victoria (2018).
• Solicitor in the commercial litigation team at King & Wood Mallesons (2019 – 2021).
Julia previously served as an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Regular Army, completing two operational deployments to Afghanistan. She continues to serve as a member of the Army Reserve and holds an NV1 security clearance, making her uniquely positioned to handle matters involving sensitive or classified information.
