Emily practises in commercial and administrative law, specialising in the areas of planning and environmental law and land acquisition and valuation. She appears regularly in VCAT, at Planning Panels Victoria, the Heritage Council and the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation, and in the Courts. She has appeared in multiple inquiries under the Environment Effects Act 1978 in relation to major infrastructure projects.
Emily read with Richard Niall KC, now a Judge of the Victorian Court of Appeal. She has had two readers: Serena Armstrong and Alexandra Guild.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Emily worked as a solicitor in private practice and government, including a secondment to a major construction company. She was also a Judge’s Associate in the Federal Court of Australia.
Emily is an Accredited Advocacy Instructor.
