Andy practises in commercial and public law.
Before coming to the Bar, Andy was an associate to the Hon. Robert French AC, then Chief Justice of Australia. He was a senior associate in the Commercial Litigation team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and a solicitor at Allens and Herbert Smith Freehills. He also worked for the Solicitor-General for Western Australia.
Andy was a solicitor assisting in the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence where he focussed on corporate governance issues. He was involved in complex and high-value commercial disputes and provided legal advice on a diverse range of private and public law matters to corporate and government entities.
Andy has a Bachelor of Civil Law with distinction from the University of Oxford where he studied on the Daniel Slifkin Scholarship from St John’s College, Oxford. He has a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He graduated first in his class in law and received the prize for the most outstanding humanities graduate.
Andy was a lecturer at UWA where he taught public international law. As a sessional academic, he taught corporations law, statutory interpretation, administrative law, constitutional law, and in the economics department at the UWA Business School.
Andy is reading with Caryn van Proctor and his senior mentor is Michael Rush KC.
