Admitted to practise in 2003 and with 7 years’ litigation experience at Clifford Chance as a Senior Associate and at Freehills Melbourne, Premala now has the opportunity to apply her substantial commercial & public law expertise to large & small disputes, particularly in banking & finance. She holds a BCL from Oxford, where she studied as a Menzies Scholar, and won the Supreme Court prize for her degree from Monash.
As well as acting in a number of significant banking & finance cases, Premala acted for the Chagos Islanders (the people who were dispossessed by the UK government when it allowed the US to establish a military base at Diego Garcia) in their fight for the right to return to their homeland.
