The members and staff of List A congratulate Helen Rofe QC on her appointment to the Federal Court of Victoria.
Admitted to practice in 1993 and following a successful legal career as a special counsel at Arthur Robinson & Hedderwicks (now Allens) and a senior associate at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst), Her Honour signed the Bar Roll in 2001 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2014. Helen is a leader of the Australian patent Bar and appeared in many major patent infringement and validity cases, and also developed experience in breach of confidence, trade mark, misleading and deceptive conduct, design matters and copyright matters. Helen is currently junior Vice President of the Victorian Bar and was President of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand from 2007 to 2009. In addition, Helen has been Chair of List A since April 2018.
We know that Her Honour will make a significant contribution to the Bench and we wish her all the best in her new role. We thank her for her contribution to the List and the Bar generally.
