Alissa Crittenden practises in commercial law, insolvency and public law, and accepts briefs in other areas. She is also a nationally-accredited mediator. Before joining the Bar, Alissa was a Judicial Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Prior to the Judicial Registrar role, Alissa was a Senior Associate at Clayton Utz in Sydney and Melbourne where she worked in the general commercial and restructuring, insolvency and public law teams. Alissa also worked at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria where she assisted the department and stakeholders in the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants and the Hotel Quarantine Inquiry. Alissa is also a nationally-accredited mediator. Alissa has a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Sydney along with an Advanced certificate in Insolvency from ARITA. |

Andy Hanna practises in commercial and public law. Before coming to the Bar, Andy was an associate to the Hon Robert French AC, then Chief Justice of Australia. He was a senior associate in the commercial litigation team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and a solicitor at Allens and Herbert Smith Freehills. He also worked for the Solicitor-General for Western Australia. Andy was a solicitor assisting in the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence and was a lecturer at UWA where he taught public international law. Andy has a Bachelor of Civil Law with distinction from the University of Oxford where he studied on the Daniel Slifkin Scholarship from St John’s College, Oxford. Andy also has a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. |

Angus Willoughby practises primarily in commercial, regulatory and public law. Before coming to the Bar, Angus was a senior associate to the Hon Geoffrey Nettle AC QC and an associate to the Hon Justice Simon Steward at the High Court of Australia. Angus was also a solicitor in the banking and finance group at Herbert Smith Freehills where he advised clients on a range of complex acquisition, project and corporate finance transactions. Angus will lecture in commercial equity in the 2022 Masters of Law programme at Monash University with the Hon Geoffrey Nettle AC QC. Angus holds a Juris Doctor from Melbourne Law School and a Master of Law with First Class Honours from the University of Cambridge. |

Jakub Patela accepts briefs in tax, commercial and public law. Before his call to the Bar, Jakub was an associate to the Hon Justice Steward at the Federal Court and then at the High Court. Before serving as an Associate, Jakub was a solicitor in the tax group at Allens. He acted in litigious, advisory and transactional matters and developed a broad familiarity with direct and indirect taxes. He practised in the litigation group in his graduate year, where he assisted clients in high value tax disputes, regulatory investigations, contractual disputes and construction litigation. Jakub holds Bachelors in Law (First Class Honours) and Commerce (Dean’s Honours, majoring in Economics) from Monash University. He was first in class for a number of economics and law subjects and was an Editor of the Monash University Law Review. |

Laila Hamzi practises in commercial law, public law and international arbitration. Laila has acted on litigation and arbitration matters and investigations across numerous jurisdictions and industries. Prior to coming to the bar, Laila practised in the commercial disputes teams of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP in London. Laila was previously Associate to H.E. Judge Cançado Trindade of the International Court of Justice in The Hague and also practised with Lander & Rogers. Laila has been ranked as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 (UK) for 2021 and 2022. Laila has a Bachelor of Science (Genetics) and a Bachelor of Laws (honours) from the University of Melbourne. She also holds a Master of Laws (with distinction) from the London School of Economics and Political Science where she graduated first in her specialism. |
