We are delighted to announce that yesterday the Governor in Council appointed David Bennett as a Judicial Registrar in the Commercial Division of the County Court.
David came to the Bar in 2000 where he advised on and appeared in a variety of commercial and civil matters. His experience included contract, corporations, trade practices, sports, media, construction, constitutional, administrative, electoral and professional disciplinary cases. Prior to coming to the Bar, David was Associate to the Honourable Justice Hayne of the High Court of Australia from March 1999 to March 2000 and an investment banker in the corporate finance division of SBC Warburg (now UBS) from 1997 to 1999. David completed his articles of clerkship in 1996-1997 with Blake Dawson Waldron, where he worked in the corporate and commercial and insurance litigation groups.
The List A staff congratulate Judicial Registrar Bennett and wish him well in this new role.
