The Members and staff of List A congratulate Dr Oren Bigos SC, Renée Enbom SC and Christopher Young SC on their appointments as Senior Counsel effective today (23 October 2019).
Dr Oren Bigos SC practises in corporate and commercial law. He has substantial experience in corporations, insolvency, class actions, equity and trusts, property, banking and finance and trade practices/consumer protection. He has acted in many major corporate collapses. He also has public and regulatory law experience and has acted for and against regulators. He has represented both class action plaintiffs and defendants. Oren regularly appears for a wide range of private and government clients in proceedings in superior courts, both at first instance and appellate level. He has appeared several times in the High Court. Oren joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2007.
Renée Enbom SC practises in general commercial law. She specialises in insurance, class actions, defamation and sports law. Renée has appeared in numerous class actions in both the Federal Court and the Supreme Court for plaintiffs and defendants. She also regularly appears for insurers in a range of matters in those courts. Renée’s media law practice involves representing parts of the Australian media and plaintiffs in defamation proceedings across Australia and acting for the media in contempt prosecutions. Her sports law work includes appearing as counsel assisting the AFL Tribunal, acting in proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport and advising a range of sporting bodies. Renee joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2006.
Christopher Young SC practises in commercial law and public law. He has advised and appeared in commercial matters involving taxation, trusts, financial services, professional negligence, trustees’ duties, professional standards legislation, proportionate liability and building and construction. He has also developed a substantial arbitration practice. His public law expertise extends to advising and appearing in public law matters involving constitutional law, administrative law, freedom of information and the Victorian Charter of Human Rights. Chris joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2006.
