Chris appears and advises in respect of development approval for the full range of land development and use applications including:
- major infrastructure projects;
- mining, quarries;
- large scale shopping centre and other retail developments;
- commercial & housing projects;
- land subdivision, landfill;
- heritage.
He is experienced in acting on behalf of developers, government agencies and third parties.
He frequently advises in respect of planning scheme matters and amendments and appears regularly at the VCAT, before Independent Panels, various government advisory committees and on appeals from the VCAT to the Supreme Court.
Chris also advises and appears in respect of claims for compensation for the compulsory acquisition of land where the claim concerns planning related issues.
He has considerable experience with environmental assessments under State and Commonwealth legislation including:
- Port Phillip Bay Channel Deepening
- Nowingi Long Term Containment Facility
- Wonthaggi Desalination Plant
- Coastal erosion assessments
- Open cut and sand mining projects
- Large scale wind farm projects
- Metro Rail
- Westgate Tunnel project
Chris also appears in other tribunals including the Liquor Licensing Tribunal, the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation and the AFL Tribunal.
