Dan Star, who was appointed Silk in 2016, has been practising at the Victorian Bar for approaching twenty years. He specialises in:
• cases in the Federal Court and State courts in administrative law, regulatory / pecuniary penalty litigation (particularly matters under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or the Fair Work Act 2009), commercial disputes and class actions;
• competition law and consumer protection trials and appeals for and against the ACCC and between private parties; and
• acting for and against Commonwealth and State Ministers, departments and agencies/regulators in investigations and litigation.
Dan is the writer/editor of the monthly “Federal Court Judgments” section in the Law Institute Journal published by the Law Institute of Victoria (and reprinted in the law society journals of NSW, NT and QLD).
Dan holds a first class honours degree in law from the University of Melbourne.
