Declan Hyde joined the Victorian Bar in 1989 following four years’ practise in commercial & resources law and commercial litigation at leading national firms, working in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. He has over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, with over 25 years as an advocate. He has a broad commercial law practice, including advice and mediation, predominantly in company law, contract, insolvency, fiduciary duties, property, insurance, tort and equity, with additional experience in administrative law. He also has particular interest in all aspects of real property law, including contracts of sale, title, mortgages & enforcement of securities, leases, owners’ corporations, easements & covenants, adverse possession and trespass. He practises predominantly in the Supreme and Federal Court jurisdictions but also at County Court and administrative tribunal level.
