Tim practises in class actions, corporations law, property and general commercial litigation.
Prior to coming to the bar, Tim was an Associate in the Class Actions department at Maurice Blackburn where he acted for plaintiffs in securities and cartel actions in the Supreme and Federal Courts.
Previously, he worked in the Enforcement directorate of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. There he was responsible for investigations of insider trading and market manipulation as well as conducting merits and judicial review proceedings on behalf of the Commission.
He completed his articles and practised for a year at Nevin Lenne & Gross in North East Victoria where he gained experience in a broad range of commercial, property and leasing advice and litigation.
He has particular interest and experience in class actions and corporations and securities law, particularly as they relate to the rights and obligations of shareholders, as weil as the market misconduct provisions of the Corporations Act.
Tim holds undergraduate degrees in Arts and Law (both with Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Laws from the same University. He received the prize for Class Actions in 2010.
He read with Lachlan Armstrong QC and his senior mentor was Dr Kristine Hanscombe QC.
