Franceska practises in commercial and public law with a particular focus on industrial relations and employment law.
Since coming to the Bar, Franceska has represented employees, employers, insurers and government regulators in a range of employment and industrial relations matters in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Victoria, Magistrates’ Court and the Fair Work Commission. She regularly advises on termination of employment matters (unfair dismissal, adverse action and discrimination), industrial relations disputes (including bargaining and collective agreements), employment entitlements (including under employment contracts and industrial instruments), restraints of trade, workplace investigations, and workplace safety. Franceska has also advised and appeared in migration matters before the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Notable matters include Crowe Horwath (Aust) Pty Ltd v Loone  VSCA 181 (with Arthur Moses SC and Nicholas Harrington) and Minister for Immigration and Border Protection v AHL15  FCA 1178 (unled).
Franceska was recently recognised by Doyle's Guide to Best Barristers as an Emerging Employment and Work Health Safety Junior Counsel in Victoria.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Franceska was Associate to the Honourable Justice RRS Tracey AM RFD of the Federal Court of Australia. She assisted in trial and appellate proceedings concerning employment, industrial relations, public law and migration matters. Franceska previously practised as a solicitor in the employment practice group at Ashurst. During that time, she advised and acted in a range of industrial, employment and discrimination matters. She was seconded to the employee relations group of ANZ Banking Group Limited for six months.
Franceska holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from Monash University.
