Yasser Bakri

Yasser joins the bar as an effective and experienced litigator. Yasser has 6 years of litigation experience and immediately prior to coming to the bar had a busy practice in the Industrial and Employment Law department at Slater & Gordon. Yasser has extensive experience in civil litigation and all aspects of industrial and employment litigation and has conducted matters in most Federal and Victorian courts and tribunals. He is particularly experienced in and interested by complex litigation and enjoys working on urgent and difficult matters. His practice areas will include industrial relations, employment law, commercial litigation and class actions. Yasser is reading with Craig Dowling and Lachlan Armstrong. Katherine Brazenor

Katherine’s career before coming to the Bar includes time spent at the Federal Court of Australia working as an Associate, initially to the Honourable Justice Michelle Gordon in 2011, and then to the Honourable Justice John Middleton in 2012 and 2013. Katherine has also had three years’ commercial litigation experience with Arnold Bloch Leibler. Katherine has a particular interest in corporations, insolvency, intellectual property, health and administrative law. She holds degrees in both law and science (majoring in genetics) from the University of Melbourne.  Katherine is also a reporter for the Thomson Reuters Federal Law Reports. Simona Gory

Before coming to the Bar, Simona worked as a litigation attorney at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP in New York.  Simona worked on complex commercial cases, with a focus on structured finance and derivatives litigation.  She also worked on a number of appellate matters. Simona was associate to The Hon Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG at the High Court of Australia.  She has taught at Melbourne Law School (Principles of Public Law, Civil Procedure) and at Columbia Law School (Legal Research and Writing). Simona won a number of academic prizes at Melbourne Law School and was ranked second out of 324 students on the final honours list. She completed her LLM at Columbia Law School as part of the Associates-in-Law fellowship program. Simona completed her articles at Arnold Bloch Leibler. She is reading with Jason Pizer.
